Newcastle rule out summer move for Frenchman

QPR striker Loic RemyNewcastle will not make another attempt to sign Loic Remy in the summer after the striker snubbed them in favour of QPR, according to the Chronicle.

The Frenchman will activate a release clause in his contract if the R’s are relegated to the Championship and the player’s agent will try and find him a new club in the Premier League.

There is every chance Remy’s representatives will approach Newcastle after they tried to sign the striker in January but Toon officials are still annoyed with the way he snubbed a move to St James’ Park and will look elsewhere.

Alan Pardew thought he had landed the striker in the winter window after agreeing a deal with Marseille and Remy, only for QPR to nip in and offer him more money at the death.

Tottenham and Arsenal are both said to be interested in the player but reports claim Newcastle will not re-enter the race for his signature even if they win their own battle to stay in the top flight.
