Newcastle United have seen a £13m bid turned down by Napoli for striker Manolo Gabbiadini, according to Sky Sports journalist Manuele Baiocchini.
The Magpies were previously rebuffed in their attempts to land Lyon and France forward Alexandre Lacazette, so seemingly switched their attentions over to Serie A.
However, the Southern Italian outfit have rejected the approach, reported to be around €17m plus add ons, for their star.
It is the second bid from a Premier League team for the 24-year old that has been rejected within a week, as Swansea are thought to have seen their offer also turned down.
It is understood that the Serie A giants are holding out for a fee upwards of £16m for the Italian international, capped six times by the Azzurri.
Star names such as Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Callejon are often preferred to the former Sampdoria man, though Napoli’s valuation has not yet wavered.
