Bent and Remy reportedly head up a shortlist of five players to help propel the Toon Army away from another Premier League relegation scrap next season.
The Magpies boss believes the team has become over-reliant on Papiss Cisse for goals, particularly since Demba Ba’s departure to Chelsea at the turn of the year.
Pardew told the Northern Echo: “Both of those players are on our list. I make no bones about that.
“We do need two strikers. Last year, I didn’t think there was enough competition in that area for a Premier League team.”
Bent will be eager for move away, after enduring a torrid time under Paul Lambert at Aston Villa.
He has been unable to live up to the £18million price tag since arriving from Sunderland in January 2011 and has played second fiddle to Belgian sensation, Christian Benteke last season.
But a move for Bent may no longer be so straightforward, after the 22-year-old recently stated his intention to leave Villa Park.
Remy was a January target for the Tyneside club, but opted for a more financially lucrative move to QPR instead in an £8m deal.
As Harry Redknapp prepares Rangers for life in the Championship, Remy is now available and could form part of a swap deal with injury-troubled Toon defender, Steven Taylor.
