Newcastle United star Moussa Sissoko has revealed that he isn’t interested in leaving the club despite interest from Napoli.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move away from Tyneside for some time, with the Serie A side understood to be interested.
Sissoko is known to be keen to play in the Champions League and could be lured to Italy by just that opportunity given that Napoli are currently top of the table.
With a week of the transfer window remaining, the door is open for the Naples side to make a move, while the Magpies have bolstered their own ranks with the signings of Henri Saivet and Jonjo Shelvey.
However, the France international has now come out to rule out a January move away from St James’ Park as he admitted the club isn’t keen on his departure.
“I am not thinking about leaving Newcastle,” he told Telefoot (via The Express).
“They will not let me go. And then I ask myself the question about the timing, just a few months ahead of the Euros.
“Certainly, our results have been bad but I get to play every weekend and to perform well.”
He has already started 22 out of a possible 23 Premier League matches for his side this term, providing five assists.
