New Newcastle manager Steve Mclaren is reportedly interested in bringing West Bromwich Albion stirker Saido Berahino, the Daily Star reports.
The Newcastle boss is keen on Charlie Austin, but it has also been rumoured that the board at St James Park are looking to win over disillusioned fans with the coup of the England U21 star.
Tottenham and Liverpool are also both keen on the striker and he could cost anyone up to £20m.
Berahino, who is currently away with the U21’s on international duty, is still yet to decide on his future and Newcastle are ready to take advantage of his hesitancy to commit to the Midlands club.
The 20 year old hit 20 goals for Pulis’ side last term and West Brom officials are adamant that their star asset is not for sale.
However, a potential takeover at The Hawthorns could scupper any potential deal to bring the forward to Tyneside.
