Newcastle to receive late offer for ace

Turkish side Fenerbachce are putting together a last-minute offer for out of favour Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse, according to the Daily Mail.

They currently sit seven points clear at the top of the Turkish Super Lig, and hope a new striker will reinforce their title chances.

The Turkish transfer deadline is not until Monday afternoon, meaning the Senegal international still has time to depart St James’ Park.

The club are set to make an offer of £6million, and are willing to match his £40,000 a week wages.

Newcastle are said to want closer to £10million for the forward, who they signed for just below that figure in the 2012 January transfer window.

Alan Pardew’s side rejected two £8million offers for the forward on transfer deadline day, one from a mystery Middle East club, and one from Fenerbachce’s Turkish rivals Trazbonspor.

Deal-fixer Muzzi Ozcan – the man who played a major part in Roberto Mancini’s move to Galatasary – is hoping to broker the potential switch before the deadline this afternoon.

Cisse has managed just three goals for Newcastle this season, with just one strike in the Premier League – a penalty in the 5-1 win over Stoke on Boxing Day.
