Newcastle United fans have called for owner Mike Ashley to dip into his pocket and bring in some new faces this month.

The businessman is in the process of agreeing a potential takeover, but with just over two weeks left in the transfer window, time is running out.

Rafael Benitez's team have avoided defeat in their last three games, picking up five points from a possible nine, but the fans are not wholly satisfied with the team.

Prior to Saturday's Premier League match against Swansea City at St James' Park, joint-top scorers Dwight Gayle and Joselu had only netted three goals each.

The latter managed to increase his tally by one against Swansea with an equaliser that cancelled out Jordan Ayew's opener.

The team ended up coming away with a point, but a large majority of the fans think that money needs to be spent on bringing in reinforcements for the second half of the season.

As it stands, the Magpies are three points above the relegation zone.
