Over the last few seasons, Newcastle United fans have gone through some turmoil.
Most still harbour a dislike for club owner Mike Ashley, who put the Magpies up for sale last year but is yet to strike a deal.
The only shining light for Newcastle has been manager Rafael Benitez, who guided the team back into the Premier League a year ago and has had to work on a limited transfer budget.
Now, supporters have another favourite as part of the coaching staff, but he will be focusing on the youth aspect.
Former goalkeeper Steve Harper was appointed lead academy goalkeeping coach on Monday.
The 43-year-old amassed close to 200 appearances for the North-East outfit during his 20-year spell at the club.

Harper remains Newcastle’s longest-serving player and now he will help develop the young talent coming through the ranks.
In response to a tweet from the club’s Head of Goalkeeping Simon Smith, Harper gave some insight into how his first few days have panned out.
Kind words gaffer thank you. Hectic first week but loving every minute of it!

Some Newcastle fans were quick to send Harper their congratulations, while one issued a warning.
Return of one of our own !
