Newcastle United added Chelsea youngster Kenedy to their squad earlier this week, but fans are keen for more to enter the welcome gates at St James’ Park.
Rafael Benitez has just seven days to get his desired targets, one of which has been rumoured to be another player associated with Chelsea.
Andre Schurrle, who spent two years at Stamford Bridge between 2013 and 2015, could be on his way out of current club Borussia Dortmund on loan.
According to the Daily Mail, the Bundesliga outfit are willing to offload the German to a Premier League club and could cover half of his £150,000-a-week wages.
At the moment, the prospect of Schurrle moving to St James’ Park is just rumours, but according to the betting market, there could be a chance of a deal getting done.
Sky Bet have the Magpies listed as 4/1 favourites to secure the former Chelsea player’s signature before the end of the month.
Amid the transfer speculation, Newcastle fans have been tweeting their thoughts on the possible deal.
Schurrle represents the sort of player that #NUFC should be targeting. But they will fail in any half-hearted attempt to sign him, if the reports are even true in the first place. January is exhausting.

I'm old enough to remember when links between #nufc and Schurrle were an Ashington Ameobi joke.
