Newcastle United have been a regular feature in the transfer gossip pages this month as they appear to be in the hunt for a new striker.
In 24 Premier League games, Rafael Benitez’s side have managed to score just 22 times.
The manager has kept faith with Joselu and Dwight Gayle, but the pair have only found the back of the net four and three times respectively.
Numerous attacking stars have been linked with a move to St James’ Park, the most recent of which being Nicolai Jorgensen from Feyenoord.
So far, the club have been struggling to get a deal over the line and Sky Sports claims that the North-East outfit recently had a £15m bid rejected by the Dutch outfit.
Now, The Mirror reports that Newcastle are looking a little closer to home by considering a move for Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Nigerian international had a slow start to his career at the Foxes following his summer switch from Manchester City, but in his last two outings – both in the FA Cup – the forward has scored four times.
After news emerged of Newcastle’s reported interest in the 21-year-old, fans gave their reactions on Twitter.

Don’t see why we haven’t even approached Iheanacho, even for a loan. Class in front of goal and would get us enough goals to stay up #nufc
