Newcastle yet to agree fee for impressive Man United target

Newcastle are still interested in Anderlecht’s Aleksandar Mitrovic, but are yet to agree a deal for the Serbian, according to reports from The Chronicle.

The Magpies were believed to have settled on a £15m fee for the impressive 20-year-old recently, but these claims were quickly dismissed by the Belgian club.

Manchester United have also been aligned with the player dubbed the ‘new Zlatan Ibrahimovic’, but Newcastle are still hopeful of tying up a swoop.

Although the club are in a state of limbo right now with John Carver in charge following the exit of Alan Pardew over the winter, plans are afoot to ensure that they are not dragged into another relegation scrap next term.

Mitrovic is seen as a good option to lead the line, with Papiss Cisse’s injury issues having limited his game time this season.

Teams in the Middle East have been linked with a move for the Senegalese ace.
