Loads of Newcastle fans have been weighing in on the latest update on the future of Rafael Benitez, who has a big-money offer to manage in China.

According to The Times, Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang want Benitez to be their new boss.

The report claims the Spaniard has been offered a whopping £12m-a-year to take charge of the Chinese outfit, double the £6m-a-year he earns on Tyneside.

Of course, from July 1 he will technically earn nothing on Tyneside if his contract is not renewed, but fans don’t seem worried by this latest update.

The fear that Benitez could depart when his contract expires due to uncertainty around the club is very real, but China does not seem a likely destination.

Money is clearly not a motivator or the 59 year-old would not have stayed under Mike Ashley as long as he has, and he is also fond of the northwest and wants to be near his family, who still live in Liverpool.

For these reasons, fans are not buying the swoop from China, as you can see from the Twitter reactions down below…
