Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is stepping up his search for a new striker with Portugal’s Eder reported to be a target, according to the Daily Mail.
Pardew believes he has never replaced the goals of Demba Ba, who joined Chelsea during the January transfer window, and is hoping to bring at least one striker to St James’ Park in the summer.
Eder currently plays his football with Sporting Braga, who value the player in the region of £16million, and Pardew will have to try and bring that fee down to have any chance of doing a deal.
The 25-year-old is also a target for Arsenal, who are looking to sign a new striker, while West Ham and Tottenham have also had scouts watch the 6ft 2in star.
St Etienne’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Vitesse Arnhem’s Wilfried Bony and Ajax’s Siem de Jong are also said to be on Pardew’s wanted list ahead of what looks sure to be a busy summer.
