Newcastle fans have been debating a move for Bournemouth striker Josh King, and the majority of fans would love to have the Norwegian on Tyneside.

Newcastle links to King popped up again last week, after the pacey striker expressed his disappointment with his change of position at the Vitality stadium last season.

King, who has scored in both Norway friendlies since the Premier League season ended, scored 16 league goals in 2016-17, but managed just half that amount last season with eight.

The 26 year-old has fantastic pace and power, and could be the striker Rafael Benitez is searching for this summer.

Benitez is looking for a proper number nine, which could be music to the ears of King, whose comments on his season at Bournemouth have cast doubt over his future.

“I do not like to blame anything, but I have to say that I was surprised that I returned in pre-season and was switched to a deeper position than I did so well in the year before,” King said.

“I started one match as the spearhead this year. I am 110 per cent unhappy with the change in position. I am not satisfied and my coach knows. I think most people know where I am the best.”

The Magpies have been linked to the speedster in the past, so they could be front of the queue to make a summer swoop if he decides to leave.

Fans clearly like this idea, as nearly two thirds of them said they would back a move for King.
