The Chronicle recently reported that Newcastle United are interested in signing Miguel Almiron in the January transfer window.
The attacking midfielder, who currently plays in the USA for Atlanta United, has been in scintillating form this season, racking up 13 goals and 13 assists in the MLS.

Given how Rafa Benitez’s side have struggled for goals in the Premier League so far this season – having registered just nine in twelve games to date – it is clear that the Magpies must bolster their attacking contingent in the upcoming winter window.
A move to sign Almiron – valued at £9m by Transfermarkt – may well be a gamble, but if the 24-year-old can translate his MLS form to English football, then he could fire Newcastle to top-flight safety. Therefore, a bid to buy the 12-cap Paraguay international would be a risk worth taking.
Plenty of Newcastle fans seem to agree, with 90% of those who took part in our poll voting in favour of launching a bid to bring Almiron to St James’ Park. See the full results below.
