Revealed: 91% of Newcastle fans want Jullien to replace Lejeune

Newcastle fans have been discussing making a move for Christopher Jullien, and a whopping 91 per cent think it would be a smart move.

According to Robin Bairner, Newcastle are one of three clubs “tracking” Jullien, who was linked with a move to Tyneside earlier this summer.

Bairner claims the towering defender is available for an incredible price of €10m (£8.9m), and that Southampton and Everton are both in the race as well.

The magpies signed Fabian Schar to replace Chancel Mbemba, but the injury to Florian Lejeune means they simply must bring in another defender.

Lejeune will require surgery on a cruciate ligament injury, so Benitez will pretty much have to plan for the whole season without him.

Jullien is a colossal defender, standing at 6 ft 5 and regularly chipping in with goals at the attacking end.

As well as being a huge threat from set pieces, he’s not a bad defender either, averaging six clearances and four aerial wins per game for Toulouse last season.

It’s clear fans are desperate for some new signings, as a whopping 91 per cent said they should make a move, and at such a bargain price this might be one that Mike Ashley will actually go fort.
