According to results from our recent poll, the majority of Newcastle fans would like to sign Liverpool's Alberto Moreno this month - the Spaniard's current deal expires in the summer so he could be available for peanuts as the Reds will want to recoup some of the £16.2m they paid for his services back in 2014.

The full-back has fallen out of favour under Jurgen Klopp with Andrew Robertson coming on leaps and bounds this season and The Mirror has reported that Arsenal are keen on a move for Moreno to replace the ageing Nacho Monreal - a sign he still has the quality to compete at the top level despite his lack of opportunities at Anfield.

Meanwhile, with takeover talks seemingly going quiet, the Magpies are looking likely to soldier on and into the second half of the season with Mike Ashley still at the helm; meaning that financial backing for Rafa Benitez is surely going to remain minimal.

We suggested that the Tyneside outfit swoop for Moreno as a cut-price option to provide competition for Paul Dummett at left-back and 75% of the Toon Army agreed with us - you can check out the full results of our poll below...
