Loic Remy

If there’s one transfer saga that will dictate the rest of Newcastle’s summer plans, it’s undoubtedly their mission to sign loan star Loic Remy on a permanent deal.

The Frenchman arrived in the Premier League last season, netting six times in 14 appearances for QPR. The West London outfit farmed out the 27 year-old to the Magpies upon their top flight relegation, and he’s since proved to be an incredibly astute acquisition, leading the club’s scoring charts with eleven goals.

With Remy the only Newcastle front-man to net more than once this season, the Tyneside outfit will certainly be interested in taking on the France international’s services permanently.

That could come at a cost of £9million, but after another prolific Premier League campaign for the former Marseille striker and the chance to further showcase his abilities at the 2014 World Cup, the Toon’s transfer interest looks set to be rivalled by Arsenal and Tottenham.

Newcastle have the inside track on Remy, but the allure of European football could see him move elsewhere.
