The 15 ‘Great Disappointments’ of this Premier League season

It’s been a strange old season in the Premier League so far. Controversy and underachievement haven’t exactly been in short supply, reminding us all just why our league is so fascinating.

Although there have been many positive aspects for viewers, the negative side of the beautiful game has been all too apparent on occasions this term. Managerial upheaval, unrest amongst fans and less than desirable actions on the part of some players have exposed the ugly side of football. As well as this top players have failed to perform, while many big summer purchases are yet to begin repaying their transfer fees, frustrating fans up and down the nation.

The achievements of Manchester City, Swansea and Norwich, among others, should not go unnoticed, but it’s hard to escape the feeling that the negative has overpowered the positive far too frequently so far.

So without further ado, here is my list of the 15 disappointments of the 2011/12 season.
