Newcastle will face Oxford United on Tuesday in their FA Cup fourth-round replay.

The Magpies were only able to manage a 0-0 draw against the Us in the first match, despite them being a League One side, and they were also unable to get on the scoresheet at the weekend against Norwich City in the Premier League.

Manager Steve Bruce was speaking on Monday in his pre-match press conference, and he made some worrying comments. He said that it is difficult for his team to dominate matches at the moment, and that he "hopes" they can control their match against Oxford.

As you imagine, the Toon supporters reacted in their droves, and their opinions were far from complimentary.

Many clearly aren't happy with their boss' words.

Newcastle have managed just 24 goals in the Premier League so far this term - only two teams have managed less - whilst the 39.4% average possession they have had is worse than any other side in the division. This, therefore, should not come as too much of a surprise.

Some fans, meanwhile, have disagreed with his use of the words "long while".

Last year, they managed 42 goals in the top flight. Not that much better, in all fairness, but an improvement proportionally.

Others have questioned their lack of firepower up front.

Joelinton, the club's record signing, has managed just one goal in the Premier League this term, whilst Jonjo Shelvey is the top scorer with just five strikes. No wonder these fans have questioned Bruce.

Meanwhile, it is revealed what lengths Newcastle went to to try and sign Boubakary Soumare.
