This morning, Newcastle United and France midfielder Moussa Sissoko was given permission to fly out of his national team’s training camp today in order to finalise his move away from St James’s Park in a move reminiscent of Anthony Martial’s departure from the France camp on deadline day last year before his big money move to Manchester United.

By now, though, no deal for Moussa Sissoko has been officially confirmed, but the Frenchman is reported to be in talks with Everton over a possible move, after a move to Tottenham was said to have broken down because of the £30m transfer fee demanded by Newcastle.

And Twitter has reacted to the news exactly as you’d expect it to have reacted! It’s an incredible fee, especially for a player at a club who were relegated last season. Sissoko wasn’t in stellar form for the Magpies, but at the European Championships over the summer, Sissoko excelled as his France team made it to the final of their home championships.

Twitter, however, isn’t impressed with tweet after tweet essentially proving we’re all thinking the same thing - Newcastle are to be congratulated for the fee they'll receive if the transfer goes through, but the club paying it... well, let's just say that no one thinks they're getting the right end of that deal:
