Newcastle’s Ayoze Perez finally gave the Toon Army something to shout about with a stunning strike to open the scoring against Chelsea.
The 22-year old Spaniard expertly controlled Vurnon Anita’s deep cross to act on some poor defending by Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill.

After a miserable season so far, Steven McClaren’s side took the lead at St. James’ Park as Perez’s shot rebounded off the post and past Asmir Begovic.
He looks to be a bargain after arriving last summer in a cut price £1.5m deal from the Spanish second division side, under previous incumbent of the Magpies hot seat Alan Pardew.
SJP is rocking. Great first half from #nufc. Massive transformation. Fiesty, aggressive, positive and deserve the lead from Ayoze Perez.
