Newcastle's 29-year-old goalkeeper, Martin Dubravka, is set to sign a permanent deal with the club according to Sky Sports.

The Slovenian international joined the Magpies in a loan deal on deadline day during the January transfer window from Sparta Prague.

Dubravka made an immediate impact as he put in a man of the match performance on his debut, a 1-0 victory over Manchester United.

After that performance, Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez claimed Dubravka could "buy the lottery and win today. He was composed and that gave confidence to the team."

The Slovenian goalkeeper went on to make 12 appearances in the Premier League for the North East club and conceded only 11 goals while keeping four clean sheets as Newcastle ensured their Premier League survival.

The Newcastle Chronicle has reported that the total cost of the signing will be £6million and considering the impact he has made at St James' Park, it is no surprise that the club have decided to make the deal permanent much to the delight of Newcastle fans.
