Newcastle have confirmed their second signing of the transfer window in the form of Valentino Lazaro to cap off a busy week at St James' Park.

The versatile Inter Milan loanee joins until the end of the season for a reported fee of over £1m, with the Magpies having the option to make him a permanent Newcastle player for £20m.

Lazaro cost the Italian outfit €22m [£18.5m] last summer but he hasn't worked out under Antonio Conte, featuring just 11 times, hence why he has been allowed to leave.

His ability to play in a number of different roles down the right flank makes him an important solution to the club's current injury problems, particularly with DeAndre Yedlin and Javier Manquillo currently sidelined.

Several supporters are happy with the addition as they believe the 23-year-old will add quality to the squad, and his arrival should come as a relief after reports suggested at one point that he could join RB Leipzig.

Along with the addition of Nabil Bentaleb, Newcastle have plenty to be excited about, and if the pair can get off to a good start against Norwich next week, then the north-east outfit will be confident of comfortably securing safety.

It will be intriguing to see how Lazaro adjusts to the Premier League, and what action Newcastle will take if the Austria international proves to be a real success.

Despite adding two players in week some fans are still restless and seem as though they won't be satisfied until Steve Bruce strengthens in other areas, with attack the priority for a few supporters.
