Newcastle were well beaten in the end by Arsenal on Sunday.

The Magpies travelled to the Emirates Stadium to take on the Gunners, and ended up losing 4-0. They managed just two shots on target, as well as an abysmal 32% possession. Quite frankly, that just isn't good enough.

The game also saw the full debut of Valentino Lazaro. The Austria international signed on loan from Internazionale until the end of the campaign, but he had only made a substitute appearance against Norwich in the Toon's previous match.

The club's supporters reacted in their droves to his first game in the starting XI, and their reactions showed just how fickle fans can be. In the first-half, they were clearly delighted with his showing.

Going into the interval, Newcastle were still all square with Mikel Arteta's side and, as part of the back four, the 23-year-old had contributed to keeping their opponents out.

However, in the second 45 minutes, the supporters turned on their new acquisition.

It was a second half to forget for the former Hertha Berlin man. He was arguably to blame for two of the goals, and was taken off with 16 minutes left on the clock.

Steve Bruce will be hoping for more performances like the first half rather than the second.
