Chelsea took a commanding 2-0 lead inside nine minutes of action at Stamford Bridge against Newcastle United.

Unlike the reverse fixture between the two earlier this season, where a vibrant Toon side shell shocked the lethargic Blues, the Premier League champions took full control of proceedings early on.

While that was largely down to their excellence, the inefficiency of the Magpies largely helped them out.

Particularly young Rolando Aarons. Granted, the 20-year old is having to deployed in an unfamiliar left-back role, but his poor pass led to Pedro racing through with just the 'keeper to beat.

Manager Steve McClaren has had his hand forced somewhat due to the injury crisis dogging his squad currently, but has still come under fire for his decision to play Aarons at left-back.

Jack Colback, who can certainly do a job in the role, is sat on the bench, much to the dismay of the Geordie faithful.
