£8m Norwich signing has shocking past with brand new manager

A wave of excitement appears to have descended upon the miserable winter in East Anglia, in the shape of £8m Scotland international Steven Naismith.

The 29-year old has arrived at Carrow Road from Everton as manager Alex Neil brings in reinforcements in his bid to beat the drop and keep the Canaries flying high.

‘I’m very happy to have signed’, gleefully revealed the former Goodison Park favourite.

Neil has talked up the signing as the man to add real quality in one of the most fearsome relegation battles in recent memory.

‘We are delighted to conclude this deal and bring Steven to the club’, boasted the 33-year old.

‘He’s a proven performer at Premier League level and an established international with Scotland so arrives with an excellent pedigree.’

All very cordial then, right? Well, you’d think so anyway.

The pair have a history, having encountered each other on regular occasions during their time with Rangers and Hamilton respectively in the SPL.

In particular, one meeting in April 2011 appeared to get very heated indeed.

While in his playing days, Hamilton midfielder Neil loses his footing after attempting to dribble the ball after a challenge from ‘Gers legend Lee McCulloch.

To add insult to injury, Naismith then fires the ball directly at his new manager while he lies on the ground from point blank range.

Neil angrily shoots up and makes for his new multi million pound signing and the pair have a relatively physical altercation!
