Norwich City’s new signing Alex Pritchard has admitted that he could not wait to leave Tottenham Hotspur after not getting an opportunity to feature consistently for the North London club.
Mauricio Pochettino has built a progressive Spurs side around a host of young, homegrown players and the attacking midfielder was being tipped to play a role at White Hart Lane last term.
However, injuries and the form of others meant that Pritchard was not afforded the chance to play, despite starring on loan at Brentford the campaign prior.
The gifted winger has admitted that he was relieved to have penned a deal to move to Carrow Road after being forced to bide his time at Spurs.
“It was a bit disappointing to finally leave Spurs,” The Mirror quote Pritchard as saying.
“But in the end I couldn’t wait to get out of there. They just never gave me a chance.”
The likes of on Heung-min, Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli are all in contention for a role on the right-hand side of Tottenham’s attack.
Pritchard is said to have moved to Norwich for a £8million fee.
