Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria has put an end to Lionel Messi’s eight year reign as Argentina Player of the Year due to his impressive performance in the Champions League for Real Madrid as well as for his country during the World Cup.
The Barcelona forward picked up the award in 2006 and has won it consecutively until 2013, before United’s £59.7million signing beat him to it this year.
In regards to the Red Devils, the fans will surely be hoping he can replicate his form for them this season as Di Maria looks to build on his three goals and six assist tally from his 11 league games so far.
