Mesut Ozil has been in spectacular form this season and has particularly improved his showing in front of goal, netting seven goals so far this season- putting him just one shy of his all-time best record for the Gunners.
Achieving 19 assists in the Premier League last season, Ozil has improved bit-by-bit during his three years but the World Cup winner understands he needs to keep on improving, telling the club’s official website:
“I think it’s really important [to keep working]. If you want to develop as a footballer, you have to work on your weaknesses every day.”
“You have to have talent but of course nobody is perfect, and you have to work hard to minimise those weaknesses as well as you can. I’m working hard on that – for example, I’m not ambidextrous, so I’m working on my right foot too.”
Ozil could certainly learn a lot from team-mate Santi Cazorla, who is deadly with both feet, and the thought of Ozil improving his game further will certainly strike fear into the Premier League defenders that have to come up against him.
The German is enjoying a break from action during the international break, having been rested by Germany.
