Having kicked off the Manuel Pellegrini era with four defeats from four Premier League games, it’s already starting to feel like another season that will have West Ham staring nervously down at the relegation zone rather than up at the Europa League spots.

Perhaps the Irons shouldn’t have been expected to take anything from their meetings with Liverpool and Arsenal but Wolves represented crucially beatable opposition on Saturday, especially in front of a supportive London Stadium crowd.
