Both the teenager and the 30-cap Portuguese finished up with an assist to their name, although the latter's impact was arguably more significant as he meticulously orchestrated City's attacks.

However, John Stones impressed at the heart of defence as well, making 91 passes without giving Alvaro Morata a sniff, and last term's long-term absentee Benjamin Mendy showed what he can bring to the team this season down the left-hand side.
