Reports suggest Portsmouth manager Paul Hart could bring up to five new players to Fratton Park before the transfer window closes next Tuesday.
The Pompey boss is believed to be confident of landing Michael Brown, Mike Williamson, Hadj Aissa, Amr Zaki and Nuno Assis after capturing Watford striker Tommy Smith in a £1.8million deal on Thursday.
Meanwhile, new owner Sulaiman Al Fahim has handed his full backing to Hart, saying:“Paul’s a big part of this club, and of course he’s staying.
“He did an excellent job to keep the team up last year, and I have a very high regard for him. I am very much behind the team and the club. I think Paul Hart is a strong manager.
“There has been a lot of uncertainty in recent months but he has been very focused and very professional in getting on with his job.
“I hope there is unity throughout the club from now onwards, as we all want the same result.
“I hope the fans will have a little patience but, of course, we will outline very soon how we move forward – the club, the team, the stadium, there is a lot to do. We’ll involve everyone we can and keep everyone informed.”
