Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez has played down speculation of a summer move away from the club by insisting he is happy with life at the Nou Camp.
Despite only joining the Catalan giants in a big money move during 2011, the 24-year-old has fallen out of favour with the club, starting just 11 league games this season.
This has led to rumours that he may move on at the end of the current campaign, with England or Italy the two most likely destinations.
However, Sanchez has played down talk of a transfer, insisting that he is content at Barca and not thinking about leaving:
“I’m very happy at Barcelona,” he is quoted by Sky Sports.
“I feel important for my club and for my country.”
Even though he has fallen down the pecking order at Barca, Sanchez still has full faith in his own abilities and believes he is one of the best players in the world:
“I know what type of player I am, I know that I am a great player, I know that I can win games. I remain one of the best in the world even if I don’t score.
“I am not a player who will score three or five goals per game.
“I give passes, and also score sometimes. I am not really a penalty box goalscorer, but I know I am still one of the best players in the world.”
