It has been a long summer in regards to the transfer window, but the end is finally in sight. There are now just six days left before the deadline passes on August 8th. It has once again been busy over the past five days, with plenty of big transfers confirmed and large fees agreed. Here, we take a look at 10 of the biggest transfer stories to break in the last week...

Arsenal have smashed their transfer record to bring in Nicolas Pepe from Lille. The Gunners have paid £72m to the Ligue 1 club for the Ivory Coast international. The Emirates outfit's manager Unai Emery said upon signing the 24-year-old, "Nicolas is a highly-rated and talented winger who was wanted by many of the top teams in Europe. Signing a top-class winger has been one of our key objectives in this transfer window and I'm delighted he's joining."

It was another busy week for Aston Villa as they completed two more signings to add to the other ten. The first was Tom Heaton, who has moved to Villa Park from Burnley in a deal worth £8m. Dean Smith was clearly happy with the England international's capture, saying, "I am delighted that Tom is joining Aston Villa. He’s done fantastically well for Burnley over the past few years and his experience and knowledge of the Premier League will be a major asset to us this season.”

The second of Villa's two new arrivals this summer is Marvelous Nakamba, who has joined the club from Jupiler League outfit Club Brugge. The Villans have paid £11m for the Zimbabwe international to take their total summer spending to a huge £133.83m. Smith, who may have forgotten that his day job is to coach players rather than speak about new signings, said of the deal, "Marvelous fits the criteria of the type of player we were looking for. He’s very mobile, he’s very good in possession and he will fit in with our style of play.”

Villa are not the only club in the Midlands to have been busy this week. Wolves have also got themselves in on the act and have confirmed the signing of Patrick Cutrone from AC Milan. The Molineux outfit have paid £16m to the Rossoneri for the Italy international, who has signed a four-year deal with his new team. It was Wolves' sporting director, Kevin Thelwell, who commented on the deal, quipping, "Patrick is an exciting signing at a very exciting period for this football club. We have a strong philosophy under the leadership of Nuno of bringing in the right type of people and developing young talent while staying humble and grounded as individuals, and we feel Patrick perfectly fits into our philosophy."

The next big transfer story involving a Premier League club is actually in regards to an outgoing. After having a bid turned down for him in January of this year, PSG have finally got their hands on Senegal international Idrissa Gueye, who they have signed from Everton. The Toffees received a fee in the region of £30m for the 29-year-old. "I’m immensely proud to sign for Paris Saint-Germain," beamed Gueye, "I can’t wait to take in the amazing atmosphere of the Parc des Princes, which impressed me during my first seasons in France!”

Another club who have completed more than one deal over the past five days are Bournemouth, who, like Villa, have added two new faces to their squad. First up was Philip Billing, who has moved to Dean Court from Huddersfield. Eddie Howe and co spent £15m on the 23-year-old former Denmark U21 international, who made 91 appearances across six seasons for the Terriers.

Soon after Billing, Arnaut Danjuma was also putting pen to paper as he signed for the Cherries. The 22-year-old Netherlands international joined from Club Brugge, who are having a difficult summer having sold four first-team players. Danjuma cost the Premier League club £13.7m, and has become the fourth new face there this summer following in the footsteps Billing, Lloyd Kelly and Jack Stacey.

There has been plenty of talk about Moise Kean's potential move to Everton this summer, but there was finally a concrete development this week as the Toffees agreed a fee with Juventus to sign the 19-year-old Italy international. The sum is said to be £27.5m but could rise to £36.6m. He could earn a weekly salary of £52,000 at Goodison Park, and the deal is expected to include a buy-back option for the Serie A outfit.

After having him on loan at Bramall Lane last season, Chris Wilder was keen to get Dean Henderson to return for Sheffield United's first campaign back in the Premier League. Fortunately for him, Manchester United were willing to let him once again leave for the Blades for another term. Soon after signing a new contract at Old Trafford, the 22-year-old completed his short-term move to the newly-promoted side.

And then, to add to that fantastic news for Sheffield United fans, the Blades were in the process of progressing in another deal. On Friday the club confirmed that they had captured Oli McBurnie from Championship side Swansea City for a fee believed to be £20m. Wilder said, "We've had to be patient and work very hard to get Oli to Bramall Lane but I am confident he will be a tremendous success."
