In what was somewhat of a shock result, the majority of Liverpool fans that answered our poll want Daniel Sturridge to start in the top of the table clash against Manchester City at Anfield.
Roberto Firmino is Jurgen Klopp’s other option for the man to play between Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, but since his last-minute winner against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League he has looked slightly off the pace, despite being potentially Liverpool’s most important player over the last few seasons.
Sturridge on the other hand has saved his Liverpool career this season after his failed loan spell at West Brom in the last campaign looked to have all but ended his hopes of getting back into the team on Merseyside.
The 29-year-old looks to finally be back to full fitness and he is now capable of playing the pressing game that Klopp demands of his front man. The former England man now has four goals in all competitions and provides real competition for his Brazilian counterpart, with 61 per cent wanting Sturridge to start against City.
