Thibaut Courtois has had an eventful week. First, he had to pull out of Belgium’s international friendly against Saudi Arabia – Roberto Martinez’s men only played once to avoid burnout – and faced a race against time to be fit for Chelsea’s huge clash with Tottenham on Sunday.
Then, the goalkeeper – valued at £54m by Transfermarkt – committed himself to the Blues for at least another season amid rumours that Real Madrid would swoop in the summer as he has yet to sign an extended deal at Stamford Bridge.
He has been Antonio Conte’s undisputed number one this season, despite this being the second season in three years that he – and admittedly along with his teammates – has allowed his performance level to drop.
That has not gone down well with the Blues’ fans and it is for that reason that we asked them who they thought should start in goal for the aforementioned visit of Spurs; their biggest game of the season so far.
