According to the results of a recent Football FanCast poll, the majority of Tottenham fans would back Harry Winks to start ahead of fellow academy graduate Oliver Skipp when Spurs take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
Mauricio Pochettino’s reign at Spurs has been defined by the incredible improvement that many players have undergone thanks to his management, and Winks has certainly been one of the beneficiaries of this.
The young central midfielder is now an England international and is often crucial to the way Tottenham play, as he likes to take possession of the ball and keep things moving quickly in midfield.
This season though, Skipp has also broken into the first-team in North London and looks a fine player. The 18-year-old made his debut in the Carabao Cup win over West Ham, before starting his first Premier League game against Burnley last week.
It’s clear though that Spurs fans would prefer Winks, who at 22-years-old is a few years ahead of Skipp, to start in the important clash with top-six chasers Everton.
