According to our recent poll, a large majority of Arsenal fans would like to see youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles start ahead of Sead Kolasinac at left-back for the North London derby on Sunday.
Former Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery will be leading the Gunners into their biggest derby game for the first time ever at the Emirates, and it’s clear that many fans want him to take a risk.
This risk would be in the form of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who started in the 3-0 win over Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League on Thursday, and made a serious case to get the nod when Sunday comes around.
The England U21 international is an extremely versatile player and, with Nacho Monreal still out injured, he could certainly do a strong job on the left-hand side of the Arsenal back four. Kolasinac was suspect last week against Bournemouth too, so Maitland-Niles will have to grasp his chance.
