West Ham United will host Tottenham Hotspur at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon with both sides going into the match in good form.

Spurs are currently in fifth place with 18 points on the board and have, in fact, recorded their best start to a season in the Premier League era so far this term.

Meanwhile, after a dreadful start to the campaign under new boss Manuel Pellegrini, the Hammers have taken seven points from their last four outings. In each match, the decorated Chilean coach has named exactly the same starting XI.

Many expect Pellegrini to name the same first team line up again for the visit of the North Londoners this weekend. However, there is a slight concern that Arthur Masuaku may not be at full fitness.

Even if the left-back is ready to play, his place in the side still ought to go to his teammate Aaron Cresswell.

Cresswell is a less attack-minded figure than the 24-year-old but would offer the home side greater defensive solidity. With Spurs boasting such attacking threats as Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Lucas Moura, the Hammers could do with all the defensive nous they can muster.

We asked Hammers fans who they’d like to see at left-back on Saturday and a huge 92% opted for the security of Cresswell. See the full results below.
