According to the results of our recent poll, a large majority of Crystal Palace fans would rather sign Divock Origi than Dominic Solanke – the latter of the two Liverpool men has been linked with a move to Selhurst Park but there appears to be a clear preference among those faithful to the Croydon outfit.
The need for a new hitman is apparent as none of the Eagles’ orthodox striker options have netted in the league this season but, despite the lack of a prolific centre-forward, they picked up the shock result of the season as they ran out 3-2 winners over champions Manchester City at the weekend to increase Liverpool’s advantage at the top.
Solanke has slipped further down the pecking order this season at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp’s men’s title charge goes from strength to strength and is yet to make an appearance for the Reds, while Origi has made just four. However, it appears the latter’s marginal minutes give him the edge over the former despite the impact a similarly under-appreciated Ruben Loftus-Cheek had in red and blue last season.
Palace fans appear to think that 23-year-old Origi’s broader experience would be more beneficial than Solanke’s drive, as 85% voted for the former in our poll – you can check out the full results below…
