Sacked Tottenham boss admits regrets

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that he has regrets over his recent time at White Hart Lane, as reported by ITV Sport.

The Portuguese boss was relieved of his duties after a poor run of form that saw the North London club lose heavily to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and West Ham.

Missing out on the Champions League last season, coupled with the sale of main man Gareth Bale was a recipe for disaster for AVB and even a number of high profile signings in the summer couldn’t help.

Villas-Boas’ failure to win a trophy was a major regret as well as missing out on the top four and he wanted to repay the faith shown in him by the majority of Tottenham fans.

“I wish I could have responded to the confidence shown by the fans with a trophy,” Villas-Boas told Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.

“I had great ambitions to win a trophy this season.”
