Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel was clearly impressed with the Red Devils victory over Swansea City yesterday, posting his views of the game on social media, and he picked out one player as crucial to the performance.
Michael Carrick has been overlooked by Jose Mourinho regularly this season but, when selected, the veteran midfielder has performed admirably and has been a vital cog in the machine for the Manchester United midfielder.
Schmeichel, who won the treble in 1999 with United, made his views on the situation obvious as he stated Carrick has to play whenever fit.
Carrick is running the show, Mourinho must play him whenever he's fit. Gives players like Zlatan, Pogba & Rooney more space & better options

The morale-boosting win against second-bottom Swansea City saw summer signings Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic find the net, with Wayne Rooney contributing with assists, and Schmeichel believes it’s all down to Carrick providing the trio with more space.
Whilst United would have been expected to win against an out-of-sorts Swansea side, the victory was vital as it puts Mourinho’s men in good footing ahead of a crucial run of games against Arsenal, Feyenoord and a double-header against West Ham.
Poor results in the two Premier League fixtures would theoretically end United’s slim hopes of winning the title, whilst a similar result in Europe could see United slip-out of the Europa League altogether.
