Selhurst stalemate as Palace slip back in to drop zone

Crystal Palace could only manage a 1-1 draw with 10-man Norwich City at Selhurst Park as they see themselves slip back in to the Premier League drop zone.

Visitors Norwich took the lead in the 39th minute after Bradley Johnson curled home following a fairly drab opening half-an-hour.

And they will feel aggrieved that Palace completed the game with 11 men after Marouane Chamakh should have seen red for a push, with Jason Puncheon calmly converting a penalty shortly after to ensure the sides went in level at half-time.

Chris Hughton will feel his side should have left with all three points after Gary Hooper wasted a couple of good chances, while Cameron Jerome did the same for Tony Pulis’ Palace.

Leroy Fer was dismissed for a second bookable offence in the dying stages as a rain soaked Selhurst Park clearly hindered both sides’ ability to find a winner.
