The 21-year-old, who has scored 5 goals in 8 games this season, has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Scouts from the Gunners and the Blues were spotted during Verona’s 3-2 win over Parma last weekend, as they prepare for the January transfer window. Liverpool are also keen on the youngster, after missing out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Willian during the summer.
Sporting director Sean Sogliano insisted the club were only focused on Serie A action, stating: “It is pleasing that people are talking about our players, every game is an exam for them to show their quality.”
“However, we are eager to collect points rather than to start selling our players. This is a really satisfying moment right now, but we have to keep our feet on the ground and get what we need to avoid relegation. I hope that our players can keep impressing.”
Verona came into the weekend’s action sitting 4th in the Serie A table, ahead of Lazio and both Milan sides. And the club’s fine form is greatly down to Jorginho, who is the joint-third top scorer in Italy.
The Brazilian, who has played for Italy at Under-21 level, is enjoying his first season in Serie A, after helping Verona to promotion last season, and has already been tipped as one of the best young players in the league.
Would Jorginho fit the Premier League? Which club should sign him?
