22-year-old Paul Pogba is highly expected to leave Juventus this summer with a bidding war sure to take place. The young Frenchman has won three Serie A titles with the Old Lady and with the Italian Cup also wrapped up, Juventus have the chance to win a historic treble this season.

But Luis Enrique’s Barcelona stand in their way having one of if not the most formidable front line in club football. If Pogba does end the season with a Champions League medal you’d imagine that the price on his head would increase, unless of course a secret deal has already been agreed.

Reports are that the young midfielder has his heart set on joining his Champions League final opponents Barcelona but there are also serious offers coming in from English clubs. Premier League fans would love to see Pogba in our league and many believe that if he does come back to these shores then it will be for one of the Manchester clubs. But should he choose blue or red?

Manchester United have moved on since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson but Pogba may still be reluctant to sign for the Red Devils. Pogba was set up to become a regular first-team player but ended up only making seven appearances and was allowed to leave for free in 2012. The problem was that despite his young age Pogba, and his agent, believed that he deserved a huge new contract but Ferguson was not the type to throw money at demanding players.

Since his departure Pogba has developed into a world-class midfielder and United believe he would be perfect back in their squad. New manager Louis van Gaal has struggled to keep the teams football flowing when Michael Carrick has been unavailable so the purchase of a dynamic midfielder is high up on his list. But a return to a club which failed to meet his demands last-time may not seem the most tempting option.

A move to Manchester City though would not only give Pogba all of the benefits he would receive playing for United for example Premier League football, the Champions League and a staggering weekly wage but he’d also get the chance to potentially take trophies away from his former employers. If Pogba is still holding any ill-feelings then a move to the blue half of Manchester would certainly be the chance for revenge.

Like United Man City have not had the brightest season though the Sky blues did manage a second-place finish. City have been criticised for having an aging squad so the youthful Pogba would be a great addition. Some did criticise his performance in the semi-final against Real Madrid but Pogba might go some ways to helping City progress further in the Champions League than they have done. That fact alone may be enough for City’s directors to break the bank to sign him.

Personally I think Pogba should re-join Manchester United as they currently have the more exciting squad and look set to re-establish themselves on both the domestic and European stages. Also switching allegiances like his current team mate Carlos Tevez did is sure to get him a lot of abuse from Red Devils supporters.

It is likely that the young man will snub Manchester and the Premier League altogether and join Barcelona. A team with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar AND Paul Pogba would put fear into any team and will further cement their dominance for the foreseeable future.
