The Clarets hit-man is expected to head away from the newly-promoted side at the end of the season when his contract expires after playing a key role in firing Sean Dyche’s men to the top tier from the Championship.
Reports over the weekend indicated that David Moyes’ Sociedad are firmly in the hunt, with the forward having flown to Spain to trash out a possible summer switch to La Liga.
Although he could elect to leave England for a new challenge, Blake feels that Ings, 22, would be better served staying in the Premier League:
“Danny Ings was on fire last season in the Championship and people were wondering whether he could do it in the Premier League,” he told talkSPORT. “He’s proved that he is a top class player at this level and he scores all sorts of goals.
“It would be a shame if he did go to Real Sociedad in my opinion because it wouldn’t further his career.
“He needs to move on and go to a top team in the Premier League this summer, a club like Liverpool or Tottenham.”
