Simply the ‘best and worst’ of the transfer window

The January transfer window is a manic time of the year with several clubs panicking as the clock ticks down, while others simply try to hold on for dear life to their best players to see them through until the end of the season and any hopes in the Premier League that they may harbour.

While the razzmatazz of deadline day never quite failed to materialise yesterday, with the Babelcopter retired for the time being and even Jim White’s blaze of glorious excitement failing to make Jermaine Jenas‘ switch to QPR come alive, we shouldn’t forget that throughout the entire window that there were plenty of fantastic deals struck, while also a few that look iffy from the start.

It’s difficult to definitively call a transfer a success or a failure before it’s even truly begun, but these are the ones that stand the best and worst chances of either fate.
