After Southampton signed Manolo Gabbiadini from Napoli in January 2017, for a figure in the region of £14 million, the Italian made a blistering start to life in the Premier League.

By the end of that campaign, the 26-year-old had racked up six goals in just twelve appearances for the Saints. Last time around, however, in his first full season at St Mary’s Stadium, the goals dried up as the striker managed just five strikes in 33 outings.

Despite remaining a fairly regular feature of the match day squad, Gabbiadini is yet to get off the mark in this new campaign too. Considering how close the Saints came to relegation last season, they really aren’t a side who can afford to carry a non-scoring striker.

However, many Southampton fans appear to retain plenty of faith in the underperforming forward. When we asked whether or not they think the South Coast club should attempt to offload Gabbiadini in January, 74% said no. See the full results below.
