Southampton’s trip to Italy ended in disappointment last night as Claude Puel’s side narrowly lost 1-0 to Inter Milan, with the result leaving the Saints’ Europa League group wide open at the halfway stage.
However, Southampton can be happy with their performance in the match, and it was, perhaps, just bad fortune that led to the defeat, which ended their unbeaten form in the competition. And forward Charlie Austin took to social media with his views following the match.

Austin, who is in a strong run of form, was one of Southampton’s better performers on the night and had the best chances to score past Samir Handanovic, as shown in the photo attached to the former Burnley striker’s message.
The Saints, however, will be confident of continuing with a positive performance this weekend.
Sat eighth in the Premier League standings, Southampton face a tricky test against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, but an upset may be on the cards as the Citizens are winless in their last four fixtures and were heavily defeated by Barcelona on Wednesday evening.
